Touch Health and Jacaranda Health partner to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes in Tanzania

Touch Health and Jacaranda Health are excited to announce the launch of PROMPTS in Tanzania, integrated into Touch Health’s watotoCare program. This partnership combines two complementary approaches to improve maternal and newborn health: watotoCare’s telehealth and transportation system, and PROMPTS’ AI-powered messaging service.
How watotoCare and PROMPTS work together
watotoCare helps families overcome the barriers to postnatal care by risk-stratifying newborns when they are discharged from the hospital, pre-scheduling postnatal care appointments, and supporting adherence to the care schedule through transportation and telehealth. PROMPTS will add another layer of support, delivering tailored health information and real-time Q&A in Kiswahili through SMS. Together, the two tools aim to provide information to mothers to help them take care of themselves and their newborn. Implementation will begin in November 2025 at Sengerema District Hospital, with an initial goal of enrolling 5,000 mothers.
By combining interactive digital health tools with innovative service delivery models, this partnership demonstrates how organizations can work together to strengthen postnatal care systems and improve health outcomes for mothers and newborns.
